Met Gala 2023 Makeup Looks
It’s the first Monday of May which means the Met Gala 2023 is well and truly underway. This year’s theme honoured the late Karl Lagerfeld and his legacy to the fashion industry. Karl helmed fashion houses such as Chanel, Fendi, and his own eponymous line.
It is quite literally the Superbowl of fashion and this year the A List celebrities were invited to pay homage to Lagerfeld’s design signatures.
Here were some of our standout Met Gala 2023 Makeup Moments.
Gigi Hadid In Givenchy
Gigi Hadid arrived to the Met Gala Red Carpet wearing an edgy black Givenchy Haute Couture ensemble. Her stunning makeup was composed by none other than celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta. Her eyes were a shimmering silver shadow, with a sharp liquid eyeliner wing and a tiny pearl accent. Now thin brows here, just big and bushy.
Em Rata in Tory Burch
Em Rata wore Audrey Hepburn-inspired bangs alongside her Tory Burch gown. Em Ratajkowski kept her glam classic with soft-sculpted cheekbones and a smoky winged eye. Her dark shadow was accentuated with an illuminating inner corner highlight. Her dark smoky eyes were balanced with a nude lip.
Paris Hilton in Marc Jacobs
It seems that Ms Hilton has turned to the dark side recently – with regard to her makeup that is. It’s also her first ever Met Gala appearance. Paris Hilton’s Marc Jacobs black leather and sequin dress was complimented with a black smouldering smoky eye and some serious under eye shadow. Her skin was bronzed and flawless as always – it’s hard to believe her when she claims she’s never had botox!
Naomi Campbell in Chanel Couture Spring 2010
Does Naomi Campbell not age? How is she still an absolute goddess? Her vintage Chanel dress featured luscious pink fabric draped over one shoulder, plus a shimmering silver sequin bodice and matching silver trim. Her flawless – and we mean FLAWLESS – makeup matched her gown, with a shimmering pink eyeshadow and black liquid eyeliner wing. This is her 16th Met Gala appearance and she never disappoints.
